M. Schininà est le responsable de la Division de la santé mentale, de la réponse psychosociale et de la communication interculturelle, au sein de l’Organisation Internationale pour les Migrations.
Il est expert international en matière d’assistance psychosociale auprès des migrants vulnérables et des victimes de traite, dans des situations de guerre et de désastres naturels.
Il a géré différents programmes psychosociaux, a travaillé comme conseiller en matière de techniques psychosociales et a animé des formations dans plus de 60 pays en Europe, au Moyen-Orient, en Afrique de l’Est et de l’Ouest, en Asie et aux Caraibes, au profit de plusieurs organisations notamment l’UNICEF en Moldovie, le PNUD en Serbie, ainsi qu’au profit d’ONG comme Consortium of Solidarity en Italie ou le Forum Moldave de la jeunesse, et enfin avec l’Université Catholique de Milan.
Il gère et conçoit l’ « Ecole d’Hiver sur les interventions psychosociales, urgences humanitaires et déplacements » à l’Université de Sant’Anna à Pise. Cette Ecole d’Hiver est adressée aux psychologues, assistants sociaux et anthropologues.
Il enseigne les droits d’homme et la gestion des conflits, au sein de cette même Université.
Au début de sa carrière, M. Schininà était membre de la Commission de recherche sur le théâtre social à l’Université Catholique de Milan où il a eu plusieurs diplômes et certificats.
En 2016, il a participé à la conception et la gestion d’un mastère professionnel en « Soutien et dialogue psychosocial » adressé aux activistes Syriens à l’Université de Beirut.
Dans la même Université, il a conçu et cogéré un mastère appelé « Intervention psychosociale dans les sociétés touchés par la guerre ».
En 2011, il a développé et géré le même mastère à l’Université de Tripoli, en Lybie.
En tant que formateur, tout au long de sa carrière, il a formé environ 6000 psychologues, éducateurs et assistants sociaux partout dans le monde.
